Layer v2: benchmark & methodology
Original announcement (archived)
A finished image is often where the next round of design work begins. The headline needs to change. The layout needs a new format. The source file is missing. The reference is right, but its parts are locked together.
Aixio Layer v1 is built for that moment. It turns a flat image into working design material inside Aixio Studio: a reconstructed background, separated visual elements, and native text you can select, rewrite, restyle, and move.
Why we built Layer v1
Generative models are good at making new images, but creative work rarely ends with the first output. Designers still need to adapt, revise, compare, and hand off what they make.
Layer v1 focuses on a specific gap in that workflow: opening finished work back up.
Instead of asking one general-purpose model to do everything, Aixio is building purpose-built models for different parts of the creative process. Layer v1 is our model for recovering editability from the visual you already have.
What Layer v1 returns
Add a poster, slide, ad, social graphic, or other flattened visual. Layer v1 analyzes its composition and returns:
- A clean reconstructed background.
- Image elements separated into individually positioned assets.
- Text restored as native, selectable objects when possible.
- Recovered type styling and fonts when they are available.
- The editable result beside the untouched original.
- A reference PPTX for workflows that need a presentation handoff.
The result is not a decorative effect or a single merged replacement image. It is a useful layer stack you can keep designing with.

How it works in Aixio Studio
1. Add a finished image
Start with the file you actually have. A clear, high-resolution image with readable text and distinct visual elements will give the model the best material to work from.
2. Choose Edit Layers
Layer v1 identifies the background, image elements, text, type styling, and composition structure. The job continues in the background, so you can leave the tab and return when the complete layer stack is ready.
3. Keep designing
Once the result lands in Studio, change the copy, move objects, adjust type, add new generations, compare with the source, or prepare the composition for another format.
Three practical ways to use it
Adapt an approved campaign
Take one approved key visual and rebuild it for a story, square post, banner, or another placement. Keep the visual language while changing the copy, crop, and composition.
Recover a client file
When the original design file is gone, use the flattened handoff as the starting point. Recover editable text and separate visual elements instead of rebuilding every part from zero.
Remix a reference
Study how a composition is structured, then replace its copy, imagery, type, and brand system. The reference becomes working material rather than a picture sitting beside the work.
Layer v1 belongs inside a larger creative system
The model is only useful when it fits a real workflow. That is why Layer v1 lives in Aixio Studio, alongside hundreds of image, video, audio, and reasoning models.
You can open a visual with Layer v1, generate alternatives with frontier models, arrange outputs together, and keep refining without moving the project across disconnected tools. For presentation work, Aixio Deck Builder extends the same idea into narrative, art direction, and editable slides.
What to expect
The standard price for Layer v1 is 1 credit per image or converted page. For the current launch campaign, every included Layer v1 workflow is free through September 1, 2026; standard pricing resumes automatically after the campaign. Your original stays untouched, and the editable result is placed beside it.
Like any recovered source file, some results may need cleanup. Complex textures, very small type, heavily overlapping elements, or unavailable fonts can limit what the model recovers precisely. Clear inputs with legible text and distinct elements work best.
